ZIFA: condition-based maintenance of conveyor systems
The diagnosis tool ZIFA (German abbreviation for Zustandsbasierte Instandhaltung fördertechnischer Anlagen) is the easiest way to retrofit elevators and escalators from various manufacturers with a condition monitoring and predictive maintenance solution. ZIFA is a plug&play system and the installation can be carried out in the course of regular maintenance. You as an operator or a maintenance company get access to a web dashboard – and your remote monitoring is ready to go in no time.
The web portal: the condition of your lifts in sight
The overview of a lift shows statistical data about its usage, like ride counter and capacity utilization. The ride matrix displays rides based on start and target floors.
Additional dashboards are available with various metrics about the health condition of the lift.

The installation: retrofit for all elevators and escalators
Depending on the desired configuration, sensors are put in place at the unit. For elevators, install locations are the elevator cabin roof and the control cabinet. For escalators, sensors go to the upper and lower reversal station as well as the control cabinet. The sensors measure, for example, acceleration forces, vibrations, electrical energy consumption, noise and environmental parameters.
Since ZIFA does not depend on data from the control unit, the installation is quick and easy. Furthermore, installation is carried out without mechanical changes. If necessary, the system can be removed without a trace.
Transferring the data: "smart data" save costs
Data acquired at the assets is transmitted to a central location, e.g. the ZIFA cloud. The web dashboard is used to visualize the state of all assets over time. Naturally, integration into existing maintenance systems is possible as well.
In order to implement data transmission to the server as cost-efficiently as possible, data is pre-processed on site. The relevant information is separated from the non-relevant information already at the asset.
Buffering data locally allows retrieving all raw data retrospectively and ensures data is also transmitted to the server if the connection is temporarily disrupted.
